Review: Immunity by Erin Bowman

Ahhhh happy release day to Immunity and Erin Bowman! I loved Contagion last year (read my review for it here), so when the wonderful folks at Wunderkind PR and Harper Teen emailed me about sending me an early finished copy for review, I jumped on the opportunity (thank y’all so much!). I finished Immunity in less than two days (work always gets in the way of reading books) and OMG it was amazing!

Immunity 5/5 Stars

Summary from GoodreadsThey thought their nightmare was over, but Thea, Coen, and Nova’s rescue was only the beginning. After being imprisoned on a ship they thought was their ticket to safety, it’s clear that the threat they left behind isn’t as distant as they’d hoped—and this time the entire galaxy is at risk.
Now that threat is about to be unleashed as an act of political warfare. To prevent an interstellar catastrophe, the survivors must harness the evil they faced on the planet Achlys and learn to wield the only weapon they have left: themselves.

While Immunity continues the story in Contagion, it goes about it in a very different way from Contagion. While Contagion was more of a thriller where the infected were everywhere and there chase scenes were all over the place, Immunity gave you more of a chance to really get to know the characters (old and new). There were still some scenes with intense infected people, but you also got to learn so much more about Thea and Coen and what being a host really means and everything you can do with the pathogen within you. I thought Nova’s POV was super interesting and I loved Amber. I felt like she was the easiest person for me to relate to!

The plot in Immunity moved at a great pace- it never seemed too slow or like it jumped over anything. I’m honestly so sad that this is the last book that we have in this world – BUT it’s been a great opportunity for me to get into Erin Bowman’s writing, and now I really need to read the other books by her that I own!

Have you read Contagion yet? If not, go pick it up now! If yes, go grab Immunity because it’s SO GOOD and you NEED to read it!!!!!!!!!
