Happy Monday y’all! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was relatively uneventful, but I finished one of the books I really needed to finish, so that’s definitely a load off of my shoulders!
Thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read and review an early copy of Tempting the Prince! This is the third book and final book in the Sexy Misadventures of of Royals series, but it’s the first book in the series that I’ve read and even though there were some parts that probably would have been a little easier for me to really understand if I had read the other books first, Christi Barth did a great job making this book a great standalone read too!
Tempting the Prince 4/5 Stars
Summary from Goodreads: What happens when you mix an average American woman with a decidedly not average future King?
I can tell you from experience—a whole lot of complications.
You see, four months ago, my all-American sister, Kelsey, found out that she’s not actually my sister—she’s a princess of a country we’d never heard of. She begged me to come along when she was whisked off to her new palace, so here I am. An outsider who doesn’t fit in anywhere.
Now that she’s settled, I should go back to my exciting new career in New York. I absolutely should not stay in a country where I got shot (long story), where I suck so badly at the national sport that I accidentally murdered the symbol of the monarchy in front of half the country, and—oh yeah—where I can’t stop ogling Kelsey’s actual brother.
The Crown Prince.
The man who has to marry a very important princess. (not me)
The man who must create the next heir to the throne. (without me)
The man I absolutely can never be with. (remember that long story?)
The man who just gave me the best sex of my life…
Did I mention that it’s complicated?
This book was super cute and a really fun, quick read! I loved Mallory and Christian as leads and reading this book made me want to read books one and two to see how Kelsey and Genny’s stories actually happened. This book gave me the Princess Diaries vibes, but if the Princess Diaries were for adults and was set in Genovia- which of course made me love it even more. The plot was super easy to follow and I was never bored. I really liked the characters- I liked Mallory more than I liked Christian, but that’s definitely because it’s a lot easier to relate to her than it is to relate to a crown prince haha. Overall, this was the perfect cute romance novel and y’all should definitely pick it (and the rest of the series) up!
