Happy April y’all! I was going through my posts this morning and I realized that I never actually wrote a February wrap-up, which was 100% my bad, because I definitely read some great books in February that I’ve written reviews for, but haven’t published and of course, I have to tell you all about how March went, so it’s time for my wrap-up! Before we get to the books, let’s talk other stuff- TV wise, I only really watched the news and Reacher in February and March (and, you know, sports like the Superbowl and College Basketball- tomorrow night’s going to be an intense night in March Madness!). Besides that, I went on a girl’s trip with some friends to Asheville and my pup made new friends while we were there, so that was great! I went to Charleston for a bachelorette party. Baby nephew got older (he’s like a little over 2 months old now, which is nuts!). So that’s a quick life overview for the past two months- now let’s get to the good stuff- the books!Read More »
Happy Monday y’all! I hope everyone had a great weekend- I definitely did, but now I’m exhausted and work is extra exhausting too, so today (and this whole week) look to be very… interesting haha
A whole bunch of amazing books are coming out tomorrow, so today, I’m going to talk about one that I read last week (thank you so much to Avon and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC)- All the Feels by Olivia Dade. All the Feels is the sequel to Spoiler Alert (which was super cute) and while you really don’t have to read them in order, I loved having that foundation while reading All the Feels.

Happy August y’all! I haven’t written a wrap up post in so long but this month I was like you know what, I read so many great books in July- I have to talk about them! I’m going to have reviews going out about some of these books later this month, so keep an eye out for those (I’ll make sure to call them out). Let’s get started!Read More »
2019 was an interesting year. I started off really strong and really loving all things reading and books and all of that stuff, and by the time the end of the year came around, I didn’t really want to read any more. I was in a huge slump. I didn’t want to post on bookstagram anymore- heck I hadn’t even opened my bookstagram in over 2 weeks! But, as I go back through 2019 now, it doesn’t seem as though it was that bad a reading year. I read 82 books, which wasn’t too bad! This year my goal was to read less than I normally do so that I could spend some time doing other things and I think I achieved that. I now am a regular at my cycling studio, so that’s a plus. I’ve also been able to spend more time with my family and friends and I’m working with a real estate agent to buy a house for myself.
In 2019, I gave out 351 of 410 possible stars and read 34647 pages. I didn’t read any books that were less than three stars and only 7/82 of my reads this year were 3 star reads for me.
Here were my 5 star reads from 2019:
A Reaper at the Gates – I LOVE all of the books in this series and I cannot wait for book 4!!!
The Wicked King – I absolutely hated the Cruel Prince, so I wasn’t expecting to like, the Wicked King, but I was so wrong.
Roar – Bee bought me Roar for Christmas 2017 and I FINALLY got around to reading it in 2019 and it was AMAZING!!!
Accidentally on Purpose – I loved so many of the Heartbreaker Bay books by Jill Shalvis last year 😍
About that Kiss – I loved so many of the Heartbreaker Bay books 😍
Hot Winter Nights – I loved so many of the Heartbreaker Bay books 😍
Wicked Saints – I read Wicked Saints at a point in time when it was exactly what I needed. I know a lot of people didn’t really enjoy it, but I loved it when I read it.
King of Fools – I enjoyed Ace of Shades, so I was super excited to read King of Fools and it was amazing!
Deathcaster – I love this series and Deathcaster was the perfect way to end it!
Six of Crows – I had been meaning to read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom for so long and I finally read them in 2019 and I loved them! The hype around them is definitely warranted.
Crooked Kingdom – see above
Finale – ah man Finale was the so bittersweet- I loved the book, but I was so sad to be leaving the world of Caraval!
Illuminae – I had been seeing great things about Illuminae for a while all over Twitter and instagram, so I finally (after my third time trying to read it) forced myself to get farther than the 11% mark and I’m so glad I did!
The Rest of the Story – I’ve been a Sarah Dessen fan for years now so I was looking forward to her new book as soon as it was announced and like usual, I loved it!
Immunity – Ahhhhh I LOVED Contagion last year, so I was the most excited about Immunity and it was so, so good!
Obsidio – Obsidio was such a great way to end the Illuminae Files and I couldn’t put it down!
One of Us is Lying – This murder mystery was so fun and different, I couldn’t help but love it
Spin the Dawn – I had heard so many good things about Spin the Dawn and I definitely agreed with all of them after reading it
Vow of Thieves – I loved Dance of Thieves, so I was super excited to read Vow of Thieves, and it was so good!
The Silvered Serpents – The Silvered Serpents KILLED me- I died with how amazing it is and I’m so sad that y’all have to wait until September to read it.
Five Dark Fates – There were so many weird twists and turns in this book that I never saw coming that I couldn’t help but love it.
Roomies – Roomies was my first Christina Lauren book and OMG I loved it! It made my want to read all of their other books and spoiler alert, I loved ALL of them!
Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating – After reading Roomies, I went onto Scribd and looked for all of the other Christina Lauren books and Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating was the next one I read and it was so cute! I loved both Josh and Hazel.
Dating You/Hating You – Dating You/Hating You was probably my least favorite of all of the Christina Lauren books I read, but it was still a five star read for me.
My Favorite Half Night Stand – Ahhhh I loved the characters in this one and as someone who has done a lot of online dating, I related to that aspect of this book a lot.
Love and Other Words – This one was probably the heaviest of the Christina Lauren books that I read and it was sooooo goood!
Twice in a Blue Moon – This book was good and different and all about second chances with a small touch of Hollywood mixed in.
The Wickerlight – This book was so different from all of the other books I read in 2019 and that’s why I liked it so much.
Skyward – Ahhh my favorite sci fi baby of 2019- I always forget how much I enjoy myself a great space book until I read a great space book and Skyward was definitely one of those great space books.
The Queen of Nothing – What a good way to end this wonderful trilogy. I HATED the Cruel Prince and then I LOVED the Wicked King, so I had no clue how I was going to react to the Queen of Nothing, but I know (based on reactions on Twitter) that it killed other people, so I was a little worried, but I shouldn’t have been because it was definitely really good and I enjoyed it for sure!
So that’s how my 2019 was in 5 star books. We’ll see how 2020 turns out, but I have high hopes!
Oof I have been really bad at posting recently so I haven’t done a recap post in so long! My October and November were so bad in terms of reading- I only read 8 books in 2 months, which is honestly kinda sad, but thankfully, they were all good books, so yay! I also went to Yallfest again this year, which was amazing as usual (I’ll hopefully be writing a recap up soon).
The books I read in October and November were:Read More »
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Inkyard Press for letting me read Crown of Coral and Pearl early! I didn’t know much about this book until I saw it on NetGalley for request, but I was really intrigued by the cover, and then when I read the description, I was hooked. I’m so glad I requested it and I’m so glad I got to read it early!
Crown of Coral and Pearl 4/5 Stars
Thank you so much to the NOVL for sending me an ARC of We Rule the Night as a part of their Book Squad! This book looked super cool from the get go when I heard them talking about it at Yallfest last year, and it definitely did not disappoint!

Can y’all believe that it’s already April??? My allergies can for sure! For those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram, I got tested for my allergies last week and I’m super allergic to all kinds of dust/dust mites and cats and I’m pretty allergic to lots of trees, weeds, and molds, so, you know, allergies all year round! My tree allergies are really bad in the spring, so that’s what’s going on for me outside the book world.
Let’s talk about the books I read this month! Overall. March was a little slow for me reading wise- there were a lot of other things going on in my life this month (Harry Potter world! Getting Sick! Getting an updated role at work! College Basketball), so reading was not always as prioritized as it normally is. I was able to finish 7 books this month:Read More »
Okay, time to catch up on some reviews! I FINALLY read Roar while flying to my work conference on February 9, and OH MY GOD why did I wait so long??? Roar was SO GOOD and it was EXACTLY what I wanted in terms of a fun YA Fantasy.
Roar 5/5 Stars
Ahhh the clocks have changed (ugh spring forward is the baneof my existence) and it’s now officially spring, which means allergies and warmweather- what a joy.
Since it’s almost the middle of March, I figured that it’stime to give y’all an update on my March TBR. As a reminder, here are the books I was planning on reading in March:
