Blog Tour: Happily This Christmas by Susan Mallery

Thank you so much to Harlequin for having me as a part of their Holiday Blog Tour (and thank you to them and to Netgalley for giving me access to an e-ARC of Happily This Christmas)! I love Susan Mallery so much- I started reading her Fools Gold books back in college maybe and then I started her Happily Inc. books last year I think, so I was super excited to read the last book (I think?) in her Happily Inc. series and to see what she had in store for Wynn and Garrick.

December TBR

Hello December! This is one of my favorite months of the year because the holiday spirit is so much fun! Christmas isn’t even my holiday (my family is Hindu, so our biggest holiday of the year, Diwali, is normally in either October or November, depending on the lunar calendar), but I love the way it’s been commercialized over the years and I love the decorations and the food and the drinks and the fuzzy socks! Like I have santa fuzzy socks, reindeer fuzzy socks, Christmas tree fuzzy socks, polar bear fuzzy socks, etc (it’s close to a problem…). I’ve already made an ornament wreath to decorate the mantle and I’m going to putting up the Christmas tree sometime this week! I love eggnog (but don’t put any rum in mine, because the smell of rum makes me gag- one too many bad experiences as a young 20 something year old) and spiced cider and hot chocolate- especially peppermint hot chocolate! And Christmas cookies! I love all the Christmas cookies!

Now that you’ve heard me gush about how much I love December and the holiday season, let’s talk about something else I’m really excited for this month- reading. I’m back into the swing of things reading wise (was I ever really out of it?) and I have so many books to read and so little time to read them (aka only 29 more days)! Thankfully, I’ve already blown my 2020 Goodreads goal out of the water (which is both a good and a bad thing, because I had purposefully lowered it this year to try and focus on other things, like dating and making new friends, but the pandemic 100% killed that, so I ended up reading more books than I’ve ever read before, and I still have a whole month left to go), so I’m not targeting a specific number of books this month, but I do have some ARCs I need to get through, some rereads I want to do, and a few library books to get to, so let’s get started on my TBR!

November Wrap Up

OMG y’all, I think I did pretty well in terms of sticking to my TBR this month- I mean I wasn’t amazing at it- I wanted to read 15 books in November and I only read 14 and I didn’t read 6 of the books on my TBR, but I DNFed one of the 6, so I know I’m never going to read that one, so that’s not a big deal, I ended up getting more ARCs read, and I definitely didn’t finish my Ember reread like I had wanted to (nor did I read all of my library books… oops)

ARC Review: A Royal Disaster by Jennifer Bonds

Happy release day to A Royal Disaster and thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read an e-ARC of it early! This book was a super cute, quick romance novel that looks like it might be the beginning of a new series about a set of royal siblings in a made up country called Valeria and how they end up getting their HEAs, so definitely super cute!

ARC Review: Write Before Christmas by Julie Hammerle

Happy Black Friday y’all! This year, everything is different, in that normally on Black Friday (or well, on Thanksgiving night, once all the black Friday sales are really starting), my mom and I used to go to the mall and just walk around, watching people go crazy buying things. This year, we stayed home and watched football and played with the dog and I ordered a pair of boots from Nordstrom Rack for the third time (because the past two times I had ordered them, Rack had canceled my order due to “inventory issues”).

On Wednesday morning (before starting all of my Thanksgiving cooking), I finished another Christmas romance and it was definitely cute! Thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read it early. It wasn’t like the rest that I’ve read recently- Write Before Christmas features older main characters (Matt and Dani are in their 40s) so that was a nice change and it was shorter- so more like a novella.

Blog Tour: Pretending by Holly Bourne

Thank you so much to MIRA books for having me as a part of the Pretending blog tour and for sending me an ARC of the paperback of this book! Pretending was my first book by Holly Bourne and man, it was really heavy and I had to take quite a few breaks to finish it, just because of how heavy it was and how much trauma April, the main character, was still dealing with, but overall I enjoyed the book.

ARC Review: The Mistletoe Trap by Cindi Madsen

Thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read the Mistletoe Trap early! Since the holiday season is almost upon us, it’s time to really get into everything Christmas- that means more Christmas themed books, Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, and it’s almost time to put up the Christmas tree/other decorations! We may not really be doing anything for Christmas this year, but I’m 100% going to be taking all the pictures!

ARC Review: The Camelot Betrayal by Kiersten White

Happy release week to The Camelot Betrayal, the second book in the Camelot Rising series by Kiersten White! This book came out on Tuesday and I’m super thankful to Random House Children’s/Delacorte Press and Netgalley for letting me read an ARC of this book! I love everything about Arthurian mythology, and I enjoyed book one in this series, so I was super excited about book two- and let’s be real, it was even better than book one was!

ARC Review: Fatal Deception by April Hunt

Happy release day to Fatal Deception by April Hunt! Thank you so much to Forever and Netgalley for letting me read this book early! This is the third book in the Steele Ops series and while I hadn’t read any of the other books in the Steel Ops series, I really enjoyed this one and I didn’t feel like I really missed out on anything by not reading books one or two.
