2021 in review: Overall reading stats

Man y’all, I’m thinking through all of the 2021 review blogs I want to write and there are a lot of them, so I think I’m going to create a series for them- hopefully I’ll be done by the middle of February, but who knows how quickly I’ll be able to write them (and the middle of February is of course assuming I publish like one a week).

ARC Review: The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina by Zoraida Córdova

Thank you so much to Atria Books and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC of The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina! I wasn’t sure what I was going to think about this book, because some of the reviews said that it was going to be literary fantasy or magical realism and I normally have a hard time getting fully sucked into those kinds of books (100% a me issue, not a those books issue) but I didn’t have that problem with this one at all!

The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina 5/5 Stars

ARC Review: This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron

Thank you so much to Bloomsbury YA and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC of This Poison Heart! I had seen this book everywhere before I was approved for the eARC, so when I was approved, I was the most excited! Life got in the way, so I wasn’t able to finish it/get this review out until after the book was published (This Poison Heart came out on June 29), but that’s good for y’all because you can go grab it as soon as you’re done reading my review!

ARC Review: Royal Trouble by Jennifer Bonds

Happy Friday y’all! I’m so excited about a long weekend! Wooo for more time for reading! I was supposed to have a pool day this weekend, but it’s supposed to rain most of the weekend and be in the 60s, so definitely not pool weather, but for sure reading weather! Speaking of reading, I was transported back to Valeria this week with Royal Trouble by Jennifer Bonds (thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read an e-ARC of this book) and man y’all, I love Valeria and this royal family. (Also, side note, this is book two in a series- if you haven’t read book 1 yet, don’t read this review- read my review for book one, then read book one, and then come back here).

Royal Trouble 4/5 Stars

Blog Tour: Ember of Night by Molly E Lee

Happy Saturday y’all! I just got home from a very intense cycling class and I’m so excited to finally share my stop on the Ember of Night tour by Turn the Page Tours! Ember of Night is the first book in a a new YA series from Entangled Teen that came out on May 4th. There are a lot of heavier parts in it (dealing with abuse etc.) and the author does provide trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, so make sure you read those before you start reading the book! I’m going to give y’all my review and share some of my favorite quotes as well as some information about the author and how to connect with her, but before I do that, Turn the Page Tours and Entangled Teen are sponsoring a giveaway for a finished copy of Ember of Night that’s open until May 11 (USA only though), so go enter it now!
