Happy May y’all! April went by so fast! It’s most likely because I got a new job and I’m trying to get used to a new company and new products and a new team and reading and blogging and working out and cooking and all of normal life on top of that is more stressful than I expected! Thankfully, I think I’m getting the hang of it, plus I really love my new job, so that’s always a plus! Also! One of my best friends from high school who I’ve been friends with since I was like 14 or 15, so 13 or 14 years now, got engaged in April and she asked me and my other best friend from high school to be her co-maids of honor and I’ve never done that before, but I’m the most excited! We’re working on bridesmaids dresses, centerpieces, dress shopping, and bachelorette party planning right now, so lots going on!
April was also an amazing month for me book wise! I read the most books! I read 21 books in April, which is the most I’ve read in a month yet! A lot of them were either ARCs or for blog tours, so I’ll have links for those for y’all. I really liked pretty much all of the books I read in April, so that was also a huge plus!
Thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read Like a Boss early! I loved the other book I read by Anne Harper, so I was really excited about reading Like a Boss and I definitely wasn’t disappointed!
Happy end of March/beginning of April y’all! Can you believe that we’re a quarter into this year already? Crazy! I’m super excited about how March turned out because I was able to get my first dose of the Moderna vaccine, I tried a new chocolate chip cookie recipe, which turned out really good, I finally finished knitting my brother’s Christmas present (only a few months late… it’s a scarf and it’s the most complicated pattern I’ve ever knit and it turned out so good!) and I ate all the good food! Books wise, while I didn’t exactly follow my TBR, I was a lot more relaxed this month and that was so nice! I didn’t feel stressed about finishing any books, which was so nice!
Thank you so much to Wednesday Books and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC of The Last Secret You’ll Ever Keep! The summary of this book sounds so much like TV shows that I love, so I was sure that I would love The Last Secret You’ll Ever Keep- unfortunately though, there were a few things about this book that made it… not my favorite. The last maybe 25% of the book definitely made the rest of the book a lot better though.
Oh man y’all, where is this year going? I can’t believe that we’re already in March! Updates from February: I tried a bunch of new recipes and some of them were SO GOOD!!! I was a big fan of the ricotta brownies, the mushroom, carrot, and potato barley soup, the taco-seasoning and lemon baked salmon with amaranth chili, and the one pot mushroom, arugula, and white bean pasta (let me know if y’all want recipes for any of these- I can for sure write them up). I watched some fun shows- Luther, The Five, and The Big Day were my favorites. And of course, I read all the books- I read 19 books in February!
Thank you so much to Wednesday Books and Netgalley for having The Project on “Read Now” late last summer/early last fall so I got access to it! I had heard so many great things about it and I know so many people who loved Sadie (Courtney Summers’ other book) that I had to give this one a try and man y’all The Project was intense!
Man y’all! It feels like January just flew by! Like how is it already February???
January was a month where I read lots of books (15 of them!), but I still didn’t read everything on my TBR, because you know, library books are always coming in and taking over my reading haha of the 15 books I read, 11 were from my TBR and 4 were unplanned, so that’s actually not too, too bad! I owned two of the books I read, seven of the books were ARCS, two books were from Scribd (one audiobook and one e-book), and 4 books were from the library.
Thank you so much to Gallery Books and Netgalley for letting me read an e-ARC for Shipped! Not only do I love cruises, but I’m also in marketing for my day job, so I was super into Henley and the summary of this book! I loved this book way more than I was expecting, and since it came out on January 19, I need everyone to read it ASAP!!!
Man, 2020 was a beast. It was a pretty terrible year overall, but there were some high points- one of the biggest high points was all of the great books I read! I ended up reading 155 books total in 2020 (which is way more than I ever thought I would read), so let’s dive into my wrap up!
My December in general didn’t turn out how I expected because my grandfather unexpectedly passed away on the 22nd, so I didn’t read as much as I thought I would during the month. All things considered though, I did pretty well in terms of reading for December! I followed my TBR pretty decently and read 15 books total.
