ARC Review: Accidentally in Love by Belinda Missen

Thank you so much to Netgalley and HQ Digital for letting me read and review Accidentally in Love early! This book was pretty different from the other books I’ve been reading recently because it wasn’t really a romance novel- like there was some romance in it, but it was more about Katie (our main character) getting out of the gallery that’s passed her over for the promotion that she deserves three times and starting her own gallery. She doesn’t have to care about men, because they’re not in the big picture right now. She’s focusing more on her career and her family, and honestly, I loved that.

Blog Tour: Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles

Blog Tour Banner_Use on and after 8.25

Thank you so much to Wednesday Books for asking me to be a part of the blog tour for Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles (and thank you to both Wednesday books and NetGalley for the free early review copy)! I first heard of this book via Roshani Chokshi’s instagram stories earlier this year (I think… it could have been last year too… time is an interesting concept right now) and it sounded so interesting- a mix of Moulin Rouge and the Phantom of the Opera with magicians- so I put it on my list ASAP and kept my eyes peeled for any way to read the ARC. I’m so glad I was able to because this book was freaking amazing and is one of my favorites of the year! This book came out yesterday, August 25th, so make sure you pick it up!

ARC Review: Tempting the Prince by Christi Barth

Happy Monday y’all! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was relatively uneventful, but I finished one of the books I really needed to finish, so that’s definitely a load off of my shoulders!

Thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read and review an early copy of Tempting the Prince! This is the third book and final book in the Sexy Misadventures of of Royals series, but it’s the first book in the series that I’ve read and even though there were some parts that probably would have been a little easier for me to really understand if I had read the other books first, Christi Barth did a great job making this book a great standalone read too!

First Line Friday: August 21

first-lines-friday

Happy Friday y’all! Has this week felt incredibly long to anyone else, or is that just me? It feels like it’s been at least 2 weeks in one for sure! I’ve been trying to stay on top of my reading and reviewing, and overall, I feel like I’m doing alright in terms of the schedule I’ve set for myself, but man, things keep getting added to that schedule (and that’s 100% my fault because I keep signing up for more book tours and I keep requesting more books on Netgalley and I keep saying yes to publishers haha). Anyway, on to First Line Friday!

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

Now, onto the line!Read More »

Newest Netgalley Approval: Make Up Break Up

Hey Y’all! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! My weekend was great because on Friday, my request to review one of my most anticipated romance novels of 2021, Make Up Break Up by Lily Menon, was approved! Woohoo!!! I cannot wait to read this book (as soon as I finish the other ARCs I have to read on my list, since I, you know, try to read them chronologically if I can, but I may have to make an exception for this one…). Since this is one of my most anticipated books of 2021, I figured let me give y’all a quick promo in case you haven’t heard about this one yet so you can add it to your TBRs (because you definitely want to), so without further ado:Read More »

ARC Review: Kiss My Cupcake by Helena Hunting

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Forever for granting my wish and letting me read an ARC of Kiss My Cupcake early! I loved Meet Cute by Helena Hunting, so I was really excited to read this one (especially since it’s about one of my favorite tropes- enemies to lovers)! I definitely wasn’t disappointed- this was such a cute book and I loved every minute of it! Kiss My Cupcake comes out today, so make sure you run and grab it!

Blast from the Past Series: 2018 Top 5

Happy Wednesday! Another Wednesday, another edition of Blast from the Past! Today, we’re moving to 2018.

2018 was a pretty solid year- I had my golden birthday and my family went to Maui to celebrate it, which was amazing. I also got to co-lead the planning and execution for the biggest conference of the year for my team and while it was a ridiculous amount of work, it was the coolest thing I’ve ever done and me and my co-worker ended up beating every expectation and leading the company revenue wise post event, so that was amazing. And it was in Vegas, so that was also really, really fun- and all of this was only done by the end of March, so there was so much more of the year left to go. In the rest of 2018, I experienced major burnout at work, almost quit my job a couple of times, got a promotion, participated in a Spartan race and subsequently screwed up my knee, went to my first author signing with Renee and Roshani, went to LA, went to a Fall Out Boy concert, and went on a Europe trip for my dad’s 60th birthday, which when I write everything out like that seems nuts, especially since I somehow managed to read 113 books on top of that! What the heck!

It was really hard to narrow it down to a top 5 this time, so I made a top 6, because 2018 was the year that Kingdom of Ash came out and I’m a Sarah J Maas junkie, so of course I reread all of those books and Kingdom of Ash is on that list, so it wouldn’t have been fair to just have a top 5. Read More »

July Wrap Up

Happy August y’all! I haven’t written a wrap up post in so long but this month I was like you know what, I read so many great books in July- I have to talk about them! I’m going to have reviews going out about some of these books later this month, so keep an eye out for those (I’ll make sure to call them out). Let’s get started!Read More »

First Line Friday: July 31, 2020

first-lines-friday

Happy Friday y’all! Can you believe that we’re already at the end of July?! What the heck!!! Let’s see, what all has been going on with me since my last First Line Friday- I went on a socially distant date with a new guy from a dating app last weekend and that went well! I don’t know if it’s going to go anywhere with him (we haven’t even planned a second date yet), but it’s nice to know that after being ghosted by the last two guys I was really interested in, people are still into me. Besides that, I’ve finished 4 books this week and all of them were really good! That’s it for my weekly update!
