Newest Netgalley Approval: Make Up Break Up

Hey Y’all! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! My weekend was great because on Friday, my request to review one of my most anticipated romance novels of 2021, Make Up Break Up by Lily Menon, was approved! Woohoo!!! I cannot wait to read this book (as soon as I finish the other ARCs I have to read on my list, since I, you know, try to read them chronologically if I can, but I may have to make an exception for this one…). Since this is one of my most anticipated books of 2021, I figured let me give y’all a quick promo in case you haven’t heard about this one yet so you can add it to your TBRs (because you definitely want to), so without further ado:Read More »

July Library Holds and Checkouts Update

Hey y’all! I’m so fortunate to live somewhere where there’s an amazing library so close to my house! The Chapel Hill Public Library is less than 5 miles from my house and they have so many physical copies of books and their e-book library through overdrive/Libby is AMAZING as well! It’s definitely made it so much easier for me to read as much as I do- I’ve checked out/read 42 e-books so far this year and 3 physical books and I have 11 books on hold right now (5 physical and 6 e-books) and 8 books checked out (5 physical and 3 e-books). (Also, I know if you follow me on Goodreads, you’re going to notice that it doesn’t have me having read over 42 books yet this year- I’ve actually read 79, but I haven’t been keeping up with putting them all into Goodreads, so I need to make sure to go in and do that at some point soon…)

3 Romance Novels to Pick Up Today for an Instant Mood Boost

This year, I’ve read so many more romance novels than any other year in the past and it’s been so great for my mood and happiness (but, man, has it made me feel more single than ever, but that’s another story all together. I’m all over all of the dating apps though, so if y’all ever want to hear about the mess that is my dating life, let me know). Since everyone could use more happiness and romance in their lives, I figured why not give you guys my top 3 romance novels of the year so far! So let’s get at it!Read More »

ARC Review: Zone of Action by Cathy Skendrovitch

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Entangled Amara for letting me read a copy of Zone of Action early! This book doesn’t come out until July 27th, so I read it about a month early and I really enjoyed it! I’ve been on a military romance novel kick lately (hopefully I’ll be writing a post about them soon because I really enjoyed some of them), so when I saw Zone of Action available for request on NetGalley and I read the summary on Goodreads, I requested it so fast!

My favorite 2020 reads that are set in America

Hey y’all! Happy July 4th! It’s America’s birthday! Even though the US is 244 years old as of today, it sometimes seems as though we’re living through our teenage rebellious years because we don’t seem to be listening to experts/it doesn’t seem like we care that much about the lives of all of our citizens (have you seen the mess we’ve made of our reaction to the Corona virus and the fact that we’re killing Black and brown people at disproportionate rates?) At least it seems as though we’re making some progress, so maybe we’re learning (slowly but surely). I do love being an American though, so I’m celebrating (at home because I fractured a bone in my foot and I’m in a boot, and again, hello global pandemic) and I’m 100% wearing my red, white, and blue today and my dog has his American flag bandana on.

Today, I figured that I’d feature some of my favorite reads this year that were set in the US. I was going through Goodreads to see which books were actually set in the states and not in different world (based on the US or not) or a different country and of the 36 books I’ve read so far this year, 19 of them are set here, so that’s pretty good. It’s 100% because I’ve read so many romance novels this year, but I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. So here we go:Read More »

Blog Tour: She’s Faking It by Kristin Rockaway

Hello summer! Can y’all believe that’s it’s almost July?! Man, we are in the thick of things now- ice cream and humidity, mosquitos and afternoon thunderstorms- everything a modified, coronavirus protected summer has/needs! One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to read on the couch or on the back porch if I can’t be at the beach and that’s one of the things I did with She’s Faking It!

Thank you so much to Harlequin/Harper Collins for inviting me to be a part of the blog tour for this book and giving me a free copy of the book to read early! It’s even more exciting because it comes out today, so y’all should go check it out right after reading my review 😉

ARC Review: The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morganthaler

Hey y’all! I’ve caved and downloaded TikTok. I feel really old for that app BUT there seem to be so many people in the same boat as me, so it’s actually way more fun than I thought? And by that I mean for the past week and a half, I’ve been watching TikToks from 9pm to midnight pretty much every night as well as during the day whenever I can (and it’s cutting into my reading time, so I really need to CONTROL myself). I haven’t actually made my own TikTok yet, but it’ll (maybe?) happen at somepoint!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for granting my wish and letting me read and review the Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morganthaler early! It was super cute and I really enjoyed it! The Tourist Attraction comes out on May 5th, so make sure you check it out then.

ARC Review: Girl Gone Viral by Alisha Rai

Hey y’all! I hope week whatever this is of quarantine is going well for y’all! I had to take my dog to the vet this morning (it wasn’t anything life threatening, but he had to get some vaccines and the vet though it would be best if he got them now rather than waiting another month or two for everything to open back up) and the little fatty has gained 2.5 pounds! On a big dog, this wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but the ideal weight for my mini corgi, sheltie, australian shepard mix is 14 or so pounds- he’s 17.5 right now, so he’s chunky. We gotta cut down on the snacks.

Speaking of snacks, I just read a book that was definitely a snack (I’m sure I’m not actually using that right, but whatever, we’re going to go with it lol). Thank you so much to NetGalley and Avon for letting me read Girl Gone Viral by Alisha Rai! This book comes out tomorrow, April 21, so make sure you grab it then!
