Newest Netgalley Approval: Make Up Break Up

Hey Y’all! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! My weekend was great because on Friday, my request to review one of my most anticipated romance novels of 2021, Make Up Break Up by Lily Menon, was approved! Woohoo!!! I cannot wait to read this book (as soon as I finish the other ARCs I have to read on my list, since I, you know, try to read them chronologically if I can, but I may have to make an exception for this one…). I feel like I was a little more diverse in my genres read in 2018 than I was in 2017! 

ARC Review: Kiss My Cupcake by Helena Hunting

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Forever for granting my wish and letting me read an ARC of Kiss My Cupcake early! I loved Meet Cute by Helena Hunting, so I was really excited to read this one (especially since it’s about one of my favorite tropes- enemies to lovers)! I definitely wasn’t disappointed- this was such a cute book and I loved every minute of it! Kiss My Cupcake comes out today, so make sure you run and grab it!

Hey y’all! I’m so excited that I got to be a part of the book tour for Star Daughter by Hear Our Voices Book Tours! This is my first tour with them and they’re such a great company to work with, so I really hope to do more tours with them in the future! So, for my post, not only am I going to write a review for y’all, I’m also going to give y’all 15 thoughts I had while reading the book, so I’ll try to keep it as spoiler free as possible in that section. Happy Friday y’all! Today’s first line is a little later than normal because I went and made/ate sushi with my brother and sister in law today, so I had no time to write this one this morning! I should probably get better about writing my First Line Friday posts in advance, but I’m so bad at preparing these. Let’s see, what all updates do I have from last week… not much really… I went on a second date with the boy, but we haven’t talked much since then because he started a new rotation at work. I read a bunch of books. OH and this isn’t an update about last week but it is an update! I’m going to be posting a special post on Sunday, so make sure you keep an eye out for it- it’s going to be

Blast from the Past Series: 2018 Top 5

Happy Wednesday! Another Wednesday, another edition of Blast from the Past! Today, we’re moving to 2018.

2018 was a pretty solid year- I had my golden birthday and my family went to Maui to celebrate it, which was amazing. I also got to co-lead the planning and execution for the biggest conference of the year for my team and while it was a ridiculous amount of work, it was the coolest thing I’ve ever done and me and my co-worker ended up beating every expectation and leading the company revenue wise post event, so that was amazing. And it was in Vegas, so that was also really, really fun- and all of this was only done by the end of March, so there was so much more of the year left to go. In the rest of 2018, I experienced major burnout at work, almost quit my job a couple of times, got a promotion, participated in a Spartan race and subsequently screwed up my knee, went to my first author signing with Renee and Roshani, went to LA, went to a Fall Out Boy concert, and went on a Europe trip for my dad’s 60th birthday, which when I write everything out like that seems nuts, especially since I somehow managed to read 113 books on top of that! What the heck!

It was really hard to narrow it down to a top 5 this time, so I made a top 6, because 2018 was the year that Kingdom of Ash came out and I’m a Sarah J Maas junkie, so of course I reread all of those books and Kingdom of Ash is on that list, so it wouldn’t have been fair to just have a top 5. 

July Wrap Up

Happy August y’all! I haven’t written a wrap up post in so long but this month I was like you know what, I read so many great books in July- I have to talk about them! I’m going to have reviews going out about some of these books later this month, so keep an eye out for those (I’ll make sure to call them out). Let’s get started!

First Line Friday: July 31, 2020

Happy Friday y’all! Can you believe that we’re already at the end of July?! What the heck!!! Let’s see, what all has been going on with me since my last First Line Friday- I went on a socially distant date with a new guy from a dating app last weekend and that went well! I don’t know if it’s going to go anywhere with him (we haven’t even planned a second date yet), but it’s nice to know that after being ghosted by the last two guys I was really interested in, people are still into me. Besides that, I’ve finished 4 books this week and all of them were really good! That’s it for my weekly update!
