ARC Review: Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren

Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for letting me read an e-ARC of Yes & I Love You! I requested this book on Netgalley without really reading the summary- I just saw the cover (and loved it) and saw that it was from Sourcebooks Casablanca, and I’ve liked every book of theirs that I’ve read so far, so I figured why not. In general, it was an OK decision.

ARC Review: Phoenix Flame by Sara Holland

Thank you so much to Bloomsbury YA and Netgalley for letting me read an e-ARC of Phoenix Flame by Sara Holland! I read Havenfall last year and I loved it, so I was really excited about reading the sequel/ending of the duology. Unfortunately, while I thought that Phoenix Flame was fine, I don’t think it quite lived up to the high standards that Havenfall set (which, let’s be real, happened with Sara Holland’s other duology too- I loved Everless but I didn’t like Evermore very much).

Book Review: A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir

Oh man y’all, we’re finally here. I finally finished this series that pretty much killed me. The first time I read An Ember in the Ashes, it was because Bee (my best friend and a huge part of Avni Reads, if you’re new around here) told me I had to. This was after both Ember and Torch were out, so I read them both, and OMG I was so hooked. Then when Reaper came out, Bee and I went to Sabaa’s signing and it was amazing and fun fact! You know how one of the Jaduna in Sky is named A’vni? Well, that’s because Sabaa liked my name! When she was signing my books, she asked me if Avni meant anything (it’s Hindi for earth and it’s derived from Sanskrit) and she made the person from Flyleaf books (my local Indie) give her an extra sticky note to write it down, so I was very excited to see a version of my name in there! Ok, but enough about that. Let’s talk about how much I loved this book instead!

Blog Tour: The Iron Raven by Julie Kagawa

Thank you so much to Inkyard Press for having me as a part of their blog tour for The Iron Raven by Julie Kagawa! I haven’t read any of her other books and even though I knew this was the beginning of a spin off series from her earlier books, I figured that I would read it anyway and if I liked it, then I’d give the earlier books a chance… well it looks like my TBR just got longer because I’m definitely about to read all of the other books set in this world! It’s got everything I love in it- how the heck have I not already read them???

ARC Review: The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Random House Children’s for letting me read the Gilded Ones early! I was one of those super lucky people who requested my e-ARC on NetGalley a few weeks before the original release date for this book, so I was approved before the book was removed from the catalogue and I’m so happy I was! It was amazing! Like man y’all, if this isn’t on your TBR, make sure you add it now.
