Happy Friday y’all! I’m so excited about a long weekend! Wooo for more time for reading! I was supposed to have a pool day this weekend, but it’s supposed to rain most of the weekend and be in the 60s, so definitely not pool weather, but for sure reading weather! Speaking of reading, I was transported back to Valeria this week with Royal Trouble by Jennifer Bonds (thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read an e-ARC of this book) and man y’all, I love Valeria and this royal family. (Also, side note, this is book two in a series- if you haven’t read book 1 yet, don’t read this review- read my review for book one, then read book one, and then come back here).
Thank you so much to Entangled Amara and Netgalley for letting me read Like a Boss early! I loved the other book I read by Anne Harper, so I was really excited about reading Like a Boss and I definitely wasn’t disappointed!
Thank you so much to Turn the Page Tours and Pandamoon Publishing for having me as a part of this blog tour! I’ve been getting more and more into cute little mysteries these days (I think they’re officially called cozy mysteries), so this definitely hit the spot there. This book also delved into the world of Independent Baseball Leagues, which was super cool! I didn’t even know that those were a thing! I live pretty close to a Minor League team and I know about the Majors, but nothing about the Independents. Murder at First Pitch came out on 9/4/19, so definitely go grab it!
Check out some of the other stops on the tourhere! Also, there’s a giveaway with this tour! Woohoo! Up for grabs during this tour are three digital copies of the book! This giveaway is open to US + INTL and will close on September 9th at 11:59 PM CST. Enter to win via rafflecopter!
Happy Friday y’all! This week has been so freaking busy! So many books have come out and I’ve had so many reviews to publish (with my blog tour date for Where Dreams Descend having been on the 26th and me needing to publish my reviews for Tempting the Prince and Beyond Power this week to stay on top of my posting schedule) it’s been a little crazy. Plus, I went back to my workout classes this week- my gym’s doing small, outdoor workout classes on their patio and I went to a strength training class on Tuesday morning and a cycling class on Thursday morning and they were so much fun! They were my first real workout classes after breaking my foot in late May, so I was a little worried about them, but they were way better than I was expecting!
First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Forever for granting my wish and letting me read an ARC of Kiss My Cupcake early! I loved Meet Cute by Helena Hunting, so I was really excited to read this one (especially since it’s about one of my favorite tropes- enemies to lovers)! I definitely wasn’t disappointed- this was such a cute book and I loved every minute of it! Kiss My Cupcake comes out today, so make sure you run and grab it!
This year, I’ve read so many more romance novels than any other year in the past and it’s been so great for my mood and happiness (but, man, has it made me feel more single than ever, but that’s another story all together. I’m all over all of the dating apps though, so if y’all ever want to hear about the mess that is my dating life, let me know). Since everyone could use more happiness and romance in their lives, I figured why not give you guys my top 3 romance novels of the year so far! So let’s get at it!Read More »
Hey y’all! I’ve gotten approved for a lot of books recently (and of course I grabbed some of those “Read Now” books from Wednesday Books last week) so now I have 10 books on my NetGalley to read shelf, so I figured that it was time to give y’all an update of what’s coming/what I’m going to be reading soon! Thank you so much to NetGalley and Inkyard Press for letting me read a copy of Rage and Ruin early! This book came out on June 9th, but I’ve been so busy with other things in life that I finally finished it this past weekend, and man y’all, you need to make sure you’re not sleeping on it like I was!
Hello summer! Can y’all believe that’s it’s almost July?! Man, we are in the thick of things now- ice cream and humidity, mosquitos and afternoon thunderstorms- everything a modified, coronavirus protected summer has/needs! One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to read on the couch or on the back porch if I can’t be at the beach and that’s one of the things I did with She’s Faking It!
Thank you so much to Harlequin/Harper Collins for inviting me to be a part of the blog tour for this book and giving me a free copy of the book to read early! It’s even more exciting because it comes out today, so y’all should go check it out right after reading my review 😉
I love Sarah Dessen. I’ve loved her books since I was in middle school (when I read my first Sarah Dessen book). I love the fact that she’s from my hometown and went to my rival high school and is so entrenched in Chapel Hill culture (and honestly, all of that just makes me love her books even more).
Her newest novel, The Rest of the Story, came out earlier in June and is honestly the perfect summer read. Coming back to a Sarah Dessen book always makes my heart happy.
