Oh man y’all, where is this year going? I can’t believe that we’re already in March! Updates from February: I tried a bunch of new recipes and some of them were SO GOOD!!! I was a big fan of the ricotta brownies, the mushroom, carrot, and potato barley soup, the taco-seasoning and lemon baked salmon with amaranth chili, and the one pot mushroom, arugula, and white bean pasta (let me know if y’all want recipes for any of these- I can for sure write them up). I watched some fun shows- Luther, The Five, and The Big Day were my favorites. And of course, I read all the books- I read 19 books in February!Read More »
Man y’all! It feels like January just flew by! Like how is it already February???
January was a month where I read lots of books (15 of them!), but I still didn’t read everything on my TBR, because you know, library books are always coming in and taking over my reading haha of the 15 books I read, 11 were from my TBR and 4 were unplanned, so that’s actually not too, too bad! I owned two of the books I read, seven of the books were ARCS, two books were from Scribd (one audiobook and one e-book), and 4 books were from the library.Read More »
OMG y’all, I have so many updates to write because I’ve done none of my 2020 wrap ups, nor have I done my December wrap up, but since it’s already January 6th, I figured let me get my January TBR up first and then I’ll get my wrap ups up ASAP. This month, I’ve already finished 2 of my 17 books, so that’s pretty good for 6 days into the month!Read More »
Hello December! This is one of my favorite months of the year because the holiday spirit is so much fun! Christmas isn’t even my holiday (my family is Hindu, so our biggest holiday of the year, Diwali, is normally in either October or November, depending on the lunar calendar), but I love the way it’s been commercialized over the years and I love the decorations and the food and the drinks and the fuzzy socks! Like I have santa fuzzy socks, reindeer fuzzy socks, Christmas tree fuzzy socks, polar bear fuzzy socks, etc (it’s close to a problem…). I’ve already made an ornament wreath to decorate the mantle and I’m going to putting up the Christmas tree sometime this week! I love eggnog (but don’t put any rum in mine, because the smell of rum makes me gag- one too many bad experiences as a young 20 something year old) and spiced cider and hot chocolate- especially peppermint hot chocolate! And Christmas cookies! I love all the Christmas cookies!
Now that you’ve heard me gush about how much I love December and the holiday season, let’s talk about something else I’m really excited for this month- reading. I’m back into the swing of things reading wise (was I ever really out of it?) and I have so many books to read and so little time to read them (aka only 29 more days)! Thankfully, I’ve already blown my 2020 Goodreads goal out of the water (which is both a good and a bad thing, because I had purposefully lowered it this year to try and focus on other things, like dating and making new friends, but the pandemic 100% killed that, so I ended up reading more books than I’ve ever read before, and I still have a whole month left to go), so I’m not targeting a specific number of books this month, but I do have some ARCs I need to get through, some rereads I want to do, and a few library books to get to, so let’s get started on my TBR!Read More »
Oh man y’all, it’s been a while since I’ve written out what I’m planning on reading in a TBR! I decided to do one for November because not only do I have a bunch of amazing ARCs that I’m reading this month that I think y’all need to know about, I also have some rereads that I want to do, so I’m hoping this will help force me to actually commit to doing them… we’ll see how it ends up working out!
Hey Y’all! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! My weekend was great because on Friday, my request to review one of my most anticipated romance novels of 2021, Make Up Break Up by Lily Menon, was approved! Woohoo!!! I cannot wait to read this book (as soon as I finish the other ARCs I have to read on my list, since I, you know, try to read them chronologically if I can, but I may have to make an exception for this one…). Since this is one of my most anticipated books of 2021, I figured let me give y’all a quick promo in case you haven’t heard about this one yet so you can add it to your TBRs (because you definitely want to), so without further ado:Read More »
I feel like I talk about all of the cool ARCs I get to read (and I know I’m super privileged to be able to read so many of them!), so I figured why not talk about all of the ones that I got rejected for on NetGalley. I’m sure I was rejected for others in other ways, but I don’t remember those, so since I have records of these, we can definitely do them!Read More »
Thank you so much to Wunderkind PR for sending me a box of goodies based on the book the Claires which is a companion novel for the Ascenders series. Not only does the book look super interesting, but I loved everything in the box! So let’s get on with the unboxing pictures!Read More »
Hey y’all! Can you believe that it’s already the end of June?! I feel like this year, every time I write up one of these wrap up posts, I’m always so surprised by how fast time is passing (which is why all of my wrap up posts normally begin with “can you believe it’s already ______?”).
For some reason, work is always weirdly busy during the summer months and I’ve had a couple of all day workshops and after work activities recently and product launches and website refreshes, so I feel like I’m reading slower than I normally read.
May started out as a really slow reading month, but then I went on a trip for work, and man, I ended up getting a lottttt of reading done while on my trip! I ended up reading 8 books in May, and I actually really enjoyed most of them! Read on to see what I read and what I’m planning on reading in June!
