Happy mid February y’all! I feel like I’ve been posting a lot of reviews recently, but I haven’t posted any updates, so I wanted to give y’all an update of what I’m reading. If y’all have been around here for a while, you know I read a lot of different books at once- right now is no different. I’ve got an ebook from the library, an ebook on my kindle app, a netgalley earc, a physical arc in my bedroom, a paperback by my couch, and an audiobook for the car, so phew, lots going on! Happy October y’all! October is such a great month- we start fall, the weather becomes beautiful, and Halloween!!! September, on the other hand, was not a great month for me- I had a two day work training, my business unit got re-organized out of no where, I had to get my wisdom teeth removed, and I had to take a week long business trip, so I definitely didn’t stick to my September TBR very well (mainly because I went on a crazy Christina Lauren kick at the end of the month)
Here are the books I read in September:
The Silvered Serpents – I love, love, loved this book! I should be publishing a review for this one soon!
Crown of Feathers – I really enjoyed listening to this book and I can’t wait for book two.
Fireborne – Fireborne was definitely interesting and I should be publishing a review for this one soon too.
Five Dark Fates – I love these books and I definitely think that Five Dark Fates was better than Two Dark Reigns
Roomies – This book began my obsession with Christina Lauren’s books and her writing! SO GOOD
Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating – I really liked this book too- Christina Lauren is so good at creating fun characters
Dating You/Hating You – This book was so cool- I loved learning about talent agents and man, I love Carter and Evie!
My Favorite Half-Night Stand – I love books about ridiculously smart people who are super oblivious haha
Love and Other Words – this was probably the slowest Christina Lauren book I read, but it was still really good and I loved it for sure!
In October, I’d like to read:
Serpent and Dove – I’m listening to this right now and it’s so good!
Bloodwitch – I’ve been reading Bloodwitch for what feels like ever right now, but I’m liking it for sure.
Sensational – I loved Spectacle, so I’m super excited to read Sensational
Bid My Soul Farewell – I loved Give the Dark my Love, so Bid My Soul Farewell has been high on my list for a while. I started it when it came out, so I should hopefully be finishing it this month!
King of Scars – I feel like I’ve been reading King of Scars forever- not because I’m not enjoying it, but because other things seem to be carrying my attention more. I’m going to try and make it a priority to finish it this month though!
The Merciful Crow – The Merciful Crow is going to be my next audiobook as soon as I finish Serpent and Dove!
Sisters of Shadow and Light – I have an e-arc of this one from NetGalley right now, and since it comes out in early November, I’m going to read it and have my review done by the end of the month.
Twice in a Blue Moon – I was just accepted to review this one over on NetGalley and with my love of Christina Lauren books going strong, this is definitely going to be one of my first reads of the month.
Lair of Dreams – It’s FINALLY time for me to try and get to this book- especially since it’s fall and spooky and this book is so nice and creepy!
What are y’all reading this October?
Man, August was not my best month reading wise (and I can’t even think of a reason for why!)- I only read 6 books in August. They were all pretty good though, so I can’t really complain. And ugh, September has not really been my month yet (which is why this wrap up and TBR post is 10 days late) – we’re 10 days into the month and I’ve only read 1 book!
Here’s what I read in August:
The Traitor’s Kingdom – Ahhh I’m obsessed with this series and I LOVED this book!!!!
The Kingdom – The concept of the Kingdom was so interesting and I really enjoyed reading it! I’m super excited for book 2!
Spin the Dawn – Ahhhh I loved this book! Be on the lookout for my review soon!
Gravemaidens – Gravemaidens was a really interesting book and a great debut for author Kelly Coon. Be on the lookout for my review closer to when the book comes out!
Vow of Thieves – I loved these books and this world and honestly everything about it- what a great end to this duology!
A Thousand Fires – This was a book that wasn’t on my radar until I saw it on NetGalley and requested it. It’s really different from other things I normally read, but I still really enjoyed it. Be on the lookout for a review closer to the release date.
Here’s what I want to read it September:
The Silvered Serpents – Technically, I’ve already finished this and it was SO GOOD!!!! I cannot wait for y’all to read it! I’ll be reviewing this one in the next few weeks or so!
Rage – Ahhhhh I loved Roar so much so I’m really looking forward to reading Rage!
Bloodwitch – I love the Witchlands books and I read Sightwitch a couple of months ago, so now I’m finally going to get to Bloodwitch.
King of Scars – Will this be the month I finally read King of Scars? Maybe!
Crown of Feathers – I’m listening to the audiobook of Crown of Feathers right now and it’s so good! I only have about 2 hours left, so woooo almost done!
Fireborne – I have an e-arc of this one from NetGalley, so I hope I’ll be able to read it this month.
Five Dark Fates – Ahhhh it’s finally time to get back to my favorite triplets! I can’t wait to see what this final installment has in store for us!
What all are y’all planning on reading in September?
Hello friends! April is a little more than halfway done, so I figured that it was time to post my mid April update!
Let’s talk life updates first- the main thing that has pretty much taken over my life in April has been work. I got a new role in early March, and ever since then, I’ve been working late and over the weekend pretty often. It’s definitely cut into my time for doing other things like reading and being healthy (aka working out and cooking).
Now onto the main event!
So far this month, I’ve read 5 books, which is definitely pretty good for such a busy month! Here are the 5 that I’ve completed:
Dark Shores (eARC from NetGalley!)
Storm and Fury (eARC from NetGalley!)
Currently, I’m reading three books- one audiobook, one eARC (wooo NetGalley!), and one ebook from the library. I should definitely be finishing these three before the end of the month:
Lady Smoke (audiobook)
Once a King (ebook from the library)
The Evil Queen (eARC)
What have y’all read so far this month? What all are you planning on reading the rest of the month??
Hi friends! Can you believe that it’s already October?! This year is just zooming by! September was a rather successful reading month- in that I read 12 books! My goal was to read 15, so I definitely read less than I wanted to, but it’s more than I read in August, so progress!
Here are the books I was going to read in September: Dawn of Legends, The Queen’s Rising, Two Dark Reigns, The Traitor’s Ruin, Of Poseidon, Of Triton, Batman Nightwalker, Seafire, Save the Date, The Raging Ones, Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, The Girl in the Tower, and Not if I Save you First.
Here are the books I actually finished in September: Ruin and Rising, Dawn of Legends, The Queen’s Rising, The Traitor’s Ruin, Not if I Save you First, Two Dark Reigns, Seafire, Save the Date, Imposters, The Girl in the Tower, Rule, and Wayfarer.
I really need to get to my Throne of Glass reread before October 23, but we’ll see what actually ends up happening…
How did you do book wise in September?
Hurricane Florence was a very… interesting storm. She moved super slowly and thankfully, she didn’t impact us in Chapel Hill nearly as much as she could. We got a few inches of rain and a little bit of wind. The coast and other parts of NC look really bad, so I’m definitely thinking of them and all of the damage that has been done to some of my favorite parts of the state.
Updates on reading- since the storm didn’t hit us as hard as we were expecting, we didn’t lose power at all, so I had to do real work all day Thursday and Friday, which meant no real reading time then. With that, I was only able to finish 3 books this weekend: Two Dark Reigns, Seafire, and Save the Date.
I loved Two Dark Reigns and Save the Date, so definitely be on the lookout for those reviews coming soon. Seafire was good too, don’t get me wrong, but that review might take a little longer than the other two haha
